“Rejoice” is a translation of the Greek word “chairoΜ,” which means to be glad or to be joyful.
“ChairoΜ” is a verb and not an adjective. This means it is prescriptive rather than descriptive.
What the verse is teaching you is that your rejoicing must be intentional rather than just an emotional response to life’s outcomes; it is a choice!
Rejoicing should not be an outcome of the good things that happen to you; rather, it should be that which provokes good outcomes.
That is the secret hidden in that verse.
You know that worrying about a problem you cannot solve only adds to the problem. Don’t you think it is time to try a new approach? Try rejoicing, and people will testify!
Sing a new song today, dance, smile, laugh, be happy! Do it intentionally; don’t wait on the world to decide when you can be happy; you might wait forever. Choose to be happy; it is a command!
If only you could see your reality in the spirit realm in Christ, you would rejoice more intentionally and always indeed. But even if you cannot see, believe Paul; rejoice and see!
May the Holy Spirit help you to step into the state of perpetual rejoicing, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
