Today’s Devotional…
When you believe that Jesus is indeed the son of God, you don’t just overcome temptations and challenges, but you overcome the world. But what does it really mean to believe that Jesus is the son of God?
It is to believe that Jesus overcame the world by taking away sin. Jesus was tempted in every sense of the word so that He would fail and leave man in sin, but He overcame!
In Matthew 27:42 it is written: “He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
Your greatest temptation is tempted to be what you can very easily do. But with discernment of purpose, it is wisdom to exercise restraint sometimes.
If Jesus came down from the cross (simply because He had the power to do so), mankind would have been doomed โ the sin of the world would never have been taken away. Ponder…
Jesus humbled Himself and bore the shame and mockery on the cross, so that He could overcome His greatest temptation. You can overcome your temptations too if you fix your gaze on your divine purpose.
Remember, it is not always all about you, but also about those who look up to you, and those whose destinies are linked to yours.
May you never let your ego stop you from fulfilling your divine purpose, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
Shalom!
