Today’s Devotional…
Jesus Christ is the summary of the entire Bible – from Genesis to Revelation.
The Old Testament is composed of two major parts: the Law (also known as the Torah or the Pentateuch, attributed to Moses) and the Prophets. In the words of Jesus Christ Himself, both parts spoke concerning Him.
The New Testament is a presentation of Jesus Christ as the gospel; from the testimonies of eyewitnesses, to the revelation of the mysteries of His person.
Jesus Christ is the substance of the gospel. He was a promise in the Old Testament, and a realization in the New Testament.
The gospel is not about things, it is Jesus Christ expressed as humanity and divinity in one body. When you understand the gospel, you will realize that we are defined by His identity, and that it is in Him that we all live, move, and have our being.
Any preaching that deviates from Christ is “another gospel” which is no “gospel” at all. If it is not Christ that you see through the lines of scripture, then you are the problem, not scripture; for there is no room for any private interpretation of scripture.
The entire Bible points to Christ. He is embedded in every single book of the Bible. Look intently, and you will find Him, and consequently find yourself in Him.
May Christ be revealed to you by all means through all the holy scriptures, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
