Today’s Devotional…
A real “ancestral curse” does not come from your grandmother or grandfather; it comes from starting to obey the law but not obeying all the law. Can you imagine that?
Moses wrote 613 laws. If you only know ten and obey only ten, you are cursed, no matter how sincere you may be, for the law is the law. And, the law does not make any allowance for ignorance. Ponder…
Now you understand why Romans 10:4 says that Jesus Christ is the end of the law. This simply means that Jesus came to redeem man from a curse – the curse of the law.
Struggling today to obey a law you don’t know in its entirety is like desiring to return to the curse that Jesus freed man from. Ponder…
Listen, in case you don’t know, James 2:10 reminds us that whosoever keeps the whole law, and yet offend in one point, is guilty of all.
According to the law, this simply means that the one who tells a simple lie is as bad as the one who commits murder. Isn’t it obvious that someone who commits murder is cursed? Ponder…
So why “struggle” with a law that will only attract curses on you when you could just freely accept the gift and grace of God in the finished works of Christ?
Do you want a blessing or a curse? The choice is yours…
May the Holy Spirit grant you wisdom in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
