ARE YOU SAVED?

Today’s Devotional…

When you read the caption and the opening verse, what answer comes to your mind? Surely not a resounding “Yes” I guess.

Well, the focus here is on the answer you are looking for whether (“Yes” or “No”,) but rather on the totalitarian nature of the offer. Oh yes, ponder…

The focus is on “WHOSOEVER”. This is the word that breaks down the middle wall of partition between Jews and Gentiles, Christians and Non-Christians, even good and bad people.

The verse points to equity amongst all humans: “whosoever calls…” So, it didn’t matter what anyone had done before or who he had been, there was a gift of grace from God Almighty that spread over all humility.

If you were to answer the question: “Are you saved?”, your response must begin with another question: “Saved from what?”

Haven’t you “called upon the name of the Lord” many times in many challenging situations? What were you looking to be saved from? Ponder…

But what was “salvation” the verse above referring to? Ponder…

The only common denominator that qualified all mankind to be classified as one was SIN. (For it was written that ALL HAD SINNED)

So, whether it was Jew or Gentile, it didn’t matter, not because they did or didn’t do good or evil, but simply because Jesus paid the price for sin for ALL HUMANITY.

So, instead of looking for an answer you can’t find (because you are still focused on your works,) look at the bigger picture of the totalitarian salvation plan of God in which you were eternally included.

May the Holy Spirit deliver you from fear and reveal to you God’s universal and eternal love, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
