Today’s Devotional…

The word “gospel” is the Greek word “euaggelizoΜ„” which simply means good news.

In the Old Testament, the term was used to refer to just any news that was considered good, but in the New Testament, it specifically refers to the glad tidings of the kingdom of God, and the salvation of the world from sin by Christ.

If it is not the teaching about the salvation of the world from sin, which automatically reveals the kingdom of God, then it is simply an Old Testament “euaggelizoΜ„” and not “The Gospel”

In Galatians 1:9 the apostle Paul warned: “As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”

Most of what is titled “gospel” on our pulpits today is simply motivational and encouragement speeches. Some are quite educational; but despite the intensity, they cannot be qualified as “The Gospel”

The Gospel is Christ and His finished works. Every other preaching, no matter how “powerful”, ” is either just motivational encouragement or, “another gospel”. Watch out…

May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
