BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION?

The reason for every celebration determines the manner of the celebration.

Christians all over are divided over the real birth date of Christ; but what remains true is that He was born.

However, the manner of celebration distinguishes those who know the meaning of the birth of Christ from those who don’t.

The first time the birth of Christ was celebrated was the day He was born and that was the only time in scripture. This celebration was not from humans but from angels.

The angels sang in celebration; they said: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.” You see, they immediately recognized the little child as God, and so celebrated Him accordingly.

Today, some Christians “celebrate” the birthday of God by drinking and getting drunk, and getting involved in very unworthy entertainments.

Celebrating the birthday of Christ should be the welcoming ceremony of God Almighty into the visible realm in human form. It should be a ceremony fit for a king, and should command the respect that comes with it.

Would you welcome a king worthy of all honor the way you “celebrate” Christmas?

Well, today, Christ lives in you. Happy birthday to the Christ in you.

May the ever-shining light of Christ in you illuminate your life and the lives of others, in His holy name. Amen
