Today’s Devotional…
The apostle Paul spoke about a time similar to our days. A time when many people do not endure sound doctrine but, after their selfish desires and ambitions, change pastors and churches at will.
Gone are the days when Christians could be excommunicated or sent to the back bench of the church just to discipline them. Today, ironically, it is Christians who discipline their pastors. Sad.
When a Christian doesn’t like a pastor or what he teaches, they just leave the church and find a pastor who is saying what they want to hear, whether it is the gospel or not.
Some Christians have even upgraded to a concerning level where they are not just changing churches and preachers, but they select their own pastors from a stream of online choices with the freedom to even select the portions of their teachings that they agree with. Can you imagine that?
For this group of individuals, it is no longer about what the scriptures say or what they mean; but it is about what they want to hear, whether or not it aligns with the scriptures.
Today, many Christians want to hear messages of healing, deliverance, breakthrough, financial open doors, and supernatural blessings. But when you tell them about the finished works of Christ, they don’t want to listen. Well, God is faithful, and truth remains truth regardless of what you have chosen to feed your soul with.
May God grant you grace, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
