Today’s Devotional…
This portion of scripture holds the secret to success in life and, consequently, the reason for failure.
Many people begin as kids, trusting God for everything, and then suddenly “grow” and start making plans for themselves without even seeking God’s guidance.
How many times have you made plans for something and they failed? How many times have even your seemingly “successful plans” proven to have been failures? Ponder…
Our opening verse tells us that everyone’s plans seem pure in his own eyes except that, no man has the power to make even his own plans come to pass. Ponder…
In Jeremiah 29:11, the Bible reveals that God has good (and obviously better) plans for you. Isaiah 45:10 reveals that this same God can declare the end from the beginning.
So, why not trust God according to these scriptures as well as our opening scripture, and just submit all your sub plans to Him to edit them according to the master plan that He has in His hand? After all, you know God’s plans for you must end in glory.
Why not let God CONTINUE to take care of you as He did when you were two years old, when you did not know how to fast or pray, when you had not “paid your tithes”, when you had not sown any seeds yet?
It is funny how we suddenly forget who watches over us in our sleep and the one who preserves us through all the storms of life, and then begin to struggle to do all things by ourselves as if we even know how. What can you really do? Ponder…
Listen, your God is not death. Don’t try to help Him, don’t keep Him out of your plans. Present your plans to Him and trust Him to edit them accordingly.
Remember He may leave some points on the plan you bring to Him, but also, know that He may blot out some points completely. But you must continue to trust Him even if He cancels your entire plan. For it is He who knows the plans He has for you, not even you(Jer. 29:11)
So, do you have any plans? Now you know what to do.
May the Holy Spirit guide you to trust God with every single plan in your life, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
