EMMANUEL?

𝙀𝙭𝙤 25:8 𝙆𝙅𝙑 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙚 𝙖 𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙮; 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙙𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢.

Today’s Devotional…

It has always been God’s plan to dwell together with man since the Garden of Eden.

In our opening verse, God told the Israelites to make Him a sanctuary amongst themselves so He could dwell with them always; but they did not understand.

While Moses and the Israelites misunderstood this sanctuary to be the covenant box which they built and carried along everywhere they went, they later found out that God was referring to a different kind of “sanctuary” when He asked them to build Him one.

Act 7:48 reveals that the Most High God does not dwell in sanctuaries made with human hands. This means God never really lived inside that covenant box the Israelites built.

God’s original plan was never “Emmanuel” (God with man,) but “God IN man forever”.

Isa 7:14 states: “…Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel…”

And Mat 1:23 confirms: “…Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us…”

The coming of Jesus Christ to earth through the Virgin Mary was simply God Himself stepping into a human body in all His fullness. But this Jesus would later “possess” all men, making all men the habitat of the Godhead.

Paul writes in 1Co 3:16: “…Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

This automatically made the ark of the covenant useless, and fulfilled God’s original plan of eternally dwelling in the man He intentionally made in His image from the very beginning. Ponder…

“Emmanuel” was in the Old Testament. Today, God lives in you according to the scriptures.

May this mystery provoke in you a quest for knowledge that will awaken the divine nature in you for the world to see, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
