Today’s Devotionalโฆ
David, a long time ago in the verse above, was led by the Holy Spirit to talk of a day when men would look up to God and their faces would not be ashamed.
This was strange, considering that at the time, all men who lived on earth were sinners, and would normally only bow their heads in shame all the time before God. (See Psa 44:15)
However led by the Holy Ghost, the psalmist prophesied of a day when men would delight in looking at God and would not be covered by a veil of sin and shame.
That scripture was not referring to any given time within the old dispensation but about the days of the Christ. He saw from far back, the age of reconciliation in which you and I now live.
This Jesus bore the sin and the shame of all mankind and gave us the courage to enter into the consciousness of God’s presence with boldness, and to look at Him with open faces without any guilt or shame.
It was also prophesied in Psa 69:7
“Because for thy sake, I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face”
If you only knew the price that was paid to give you the relationship you now share with God in Christ, you would use it honorably!
May this understanding take away your shame permanently from today, whether before God or before man, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
