Today’s Devotional…
This is the story of a man who almost rejected a gift of healing from Jesus Christ. He had been sick for thirty-eight long years – a time period long enough to have redefined his belief system.
Jesus asked him a simple question: “Do you want to get well?” A simple “Yes” is what you would expect. But over time, the world had gradually built it into his very subconscious, that healing was completely impossible without stepping into the stirred waters.
You see, many of us today often reject God outright, simply because we have chosen to believe and conform to the standards and definitions of the world and not to God. This is quite serious.
Today, people use the mundane contemporary status quo to judge the possibilities of God rather than judging the world by God’s standards or definitions.
Listen, the world is so cunning that it has silently shifted your belief system to agree that not all things are possible with God except what is acceptable to the world. Sad.
You cannot even imagine the number of blessings you have missed so far because they didn’t match the definition that the world around you approves.
For thirty-eight years, the world could not help the sick man; but at the same time, it almost made him reject his healing for no divine reason. So, the choice is yours whether to believe God or the world; but remember that only God holds the absolute truth and the key to your eternal rest.
Don’t let the world deceive you. The fact that the whole world agrees to a thing does not necessarily make it acceptable before God. It is God who sets the standards, and not the other way round – He is the Almighty.
Listen, what is that thing that God is telling you but the world is contracting because of its standards? Who will you believe? God, or the world?
I pray that you will believe God, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
