2 Corinthians 4:9
(KJV) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Today’s Devotional…
Yes, you may be persecuted by men, but God will never abandon you in the persecution. You may cast down by situations and circumstances, but God will not let all that destroy you.
And even when your soul is cast down within you and your conscience condemns you for things you truly done, God never abandons you.
Many people believe that God abandons them when they make mistakes. Some think that God goes far away from them when they begin to live a wayward life. But that is only a religious propaganda and not the truth. For where can an omnipresent God run to?
If a mother has ten children and one of them is sick while nine are strong and playing around, where do you think the mother will be? Certainly with the sick one and not the nine strong ones.
Why then do you think God abandons you when you are down to go be with the “righteous children” who are in church? Don’t you know that it is God’s responsibility to lift up those who are down?
In Corinthians 7:6, Pual wrote: “Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus”
Listen, it is when you think you are furthest from God that He is actually closest to you. When you think God has forgotten you, it is at the moment that His presence in you is most intensified. For if God your father does not help you when you are lost, who will? Ponder…
Psalms 37:25 records: “…I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken…” Why do you think it will start with you?
Just because God is not responding to your prayers in the way you want does not necessarily mean that He has forgotten about you. If God were to show you what He is already doing in the realm on your behalf, you may see that your current ordeal is actually the best answer to an unprayed prayer.ย Ponder…
In Isaiah 43:2, Godย is reminding you: “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee”
That is who your God is. And He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! He is still doing saving the lost today, and you are too precious to Him to be forsaken.
May you never lose sight of God’s active and manifest presence in your life even during your most challenging moments, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
