The best way to express your love for God is by showing love to others. By others, I mean everyone without limitation.
God loves you regardless of your shortcomings, so you must love others unconditionally. When you show love to your family, strangers, and even to your enemies, you are, by so doing, demonstrating great love towards God.
No amount of tithes and offerings can prove your love for God. God cannot be bribed with material things. If you cannot show love to your brother or sister, you cannot show love to God.
Mat 5:23-24 says: Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
It is even better to miss church on Sunday and go to make peace with your brother or sister than to be present in church with a bitter and unforgiving heart. When you love others God will love you back.
If there is still someone in your heart that you have not been able to forgive, may the Holy Spirit help you today to do so (and harden not your heart) so that you may begin to experience God’s unconditional love fully in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
