Today’s Devotional…
What is judgment? First of all, judgment does NOT necessarily mean CONDEMNATION.
That settled, “judgment” comes from the Greek word “krisis,” which comes from the root word “krino” meaning “an opinion or decision given concerning anything, especially concerning justice and injustice, right or wrong” Ponder…
It is important to note, as stated by Jesus Christ Himself in John 5:22, that “the Father judges no man, but had committed all judgment unto the Son,” confirming our opening verse.
Now, if Jesus who died unjustly be the judge of the world, what do you think judgment should be like? For it would be injustice for Him to condemn the sinful world when He did not condemn His crucifixion, seeing that He was sinless. Ponder…
The one who had to judge the world is the one who died for the world, because He understood human weaknesses and limitations. Ponder…
The Judge of the world happened to also be the Savior of it. If the world remains condemned by His judgment, then He did not save the world. Ponder…
Romans 4:25 reveals that He was delivered for their offences, but was raised again for their justification and not their condemnation. Ponder again…
If Jesus condemns instead of justifying, how then does he justify His death, being the just judge? Ponder deeply.
If Jesus accepted a shameful and an unjust crucifixion for the purpose of rendering mankind sinless, then His resurrection must have purposely been to examine (or judge) mankind to make sure that His mission was accomplished and that His death was not in vain.
That is why our opening scripture expressly said He will judge the world in RIGHTEOUSNESS! Yes, for righteousness is the exact reason for which He died. Ponder…
May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
