In a place where sexual sin had become so rampant that an entire population would desire to violate two angels who had just come to the city, who would expect to find a virgin in such a place still?
In Sodom and Gomorrah, Gen 19:4 reveals that all the people were involved in sexual sin, both the young and the old, men and women. However, the two daughters of Lot did not get corrupted.
Listen, sometimes it is not about how bad the world has become, but how strong and determined you are to stay uncorrupted.
If the two daughters of Lot could survive in Sodom and Gomorrah as virgins despite the gross moral decadence of the city, then you can live in this world successfully despite the all-time low moral standards we see in the world today.
The children of Lot did not follow the crowd. They didn’t think immortality was normal since everybody was doing it. They did not expect that the city should change before they could. Ponder…
Against all odds, against all that was popular, against all that was in the mode at the time, against the majority; the two girls stood firm and accepted their virginity as the standard.
We live in a world today where people just follow what they see others do. But listen, no matter how popular evil may look, it will never become acceptable before God.
Nothing can justify wrongdoing, not even everyone. Listen, evil is evil, and your conscience knows it. Even when society and everyone approve of a thing, they cannot corrupt your conscience. Ponder…
Today, many people have accepted the status quo and have decided to follow the dishonorable modus operandi of this world without any consideration. Sad.
It was to a generation like ours that Paul said: “Be not conformed to the standards of this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Rom 12:2
Stop complaining about how bad the world is and start focusing on how perfect you are in Christ. If you fail today, it is not because the world is bad, but because you did not live up to the expectations of your worth in Christ. Ponder…
Stop waiting for the world to change for you to live right. Don’t you know the world is rather waiting for you to live right so that they can change? Romans 8:18 says creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God, and you are one of them

The daughters of Lot made it with very little help. Today, you have the Holy Spirit to help you. Will you disappoint God or make Him proud? The choice is yours in Christ.
May your whole body soul and spirit submit fully to the leadership of the Holy Spirit from today, so that you may make a difference in your generation, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
