READ AND PONDER…

Rom 9:30-32 KJV What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone;

Today’s Devotional…

If you read it, this is the meaning: The Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness (who did not seek salvation and a right relationship with God,) nevertheless, obtained righteousness; by the faith of Christ.

On the other hand, Israel, which had always pursued righteousness by the law, did not succeed in fulfilling the law.

And why not? Because it was not by faith that they pursued it, but by works – they relied on the merit of their works instead of their faith. That is the error many are still committing today.

No man can work for righteousness; if you cannot accept the one that comes freely from Jesus Christ as a gift, then you can never get righteousness. There is no righteousness out of Christ.

May the Holy Spirit grant you a strong hunger for the scriptures as well as a clear understanding every time you read, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
