Today’s Devotionalโฆ
If it did not require faith in Adam’s sin to become sinful, then it should not require faith in Christ to become righteous.
If the faith of Adam in his sin was enough to make all mankind sinful, then the faith of Jesus in His righteousness should be enough to make all men after the cross righteous.
Man’s doubt or disbelief in the sin of Adam could not redeem Him from sin because Adam’s faith was enough for all. Similarly, man’s disbelief in the finished works of Christ cannot exclude Him from the grace of God because Jesus’ faith and sacrifice were enough for all.
It was neither unbelief nor faith that made men sinners after Adam, but it was Adam’s singular (and independent) act of disobedience. For neither faith nor unbelief could reverse the disobedience of Adam.
Similarly, it is neither your faith nor your unbelief that can make you obtain the righteousness of Christ; but it was Christ’s singular act of obedience unto death that dispensed righteousness unto all men. For neither faith nor doubt can undo the sufferings and death of Christ on that cross at Calvary.
Just as the faith of Adam was enough to make all men sinners, the faith of Jesus Christ is enough to make all men righteous. Believing this only gives you access to what already is, and doubting it only limits you from experiencing what already is. Ponderโฆ
