Today’s Devotional…
Romans 3:23 is an incomplete sentence, which has been misinterpreted in many quarters of Christendom to imply something false and misleading.
It wasn’t Paul’s intention to project the false narrative that “all have sinned”. Rather, Paul was struggling to project the justification of man which is recorded in the very next verse: Romans 3:24
So yes, read to the end, so that you can capture the context of the text, which naturally makes the truth easy to grasp.
So, no! All have not sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; that is not what Paul was saying. He was struggling to make the Romans understand that sinful men had been justified in Christ. That is it. Ponder…
May the Holy Spirit grant you the patience you need to study and understand everything in the right context, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
